  1. Nov 20,  · Hoobastank is the self-titled album of the alternative rock/metal band of the same name. It is their major-label debut album, the first album overall to adopt a post-grunge sound, and the one.

  4. Hoobastank is good at writing catchy choruses, and this track showcases that. They are also good at recording vocal harmonies, which this track also illustrates. “Hello Again” is once again not a bad song, as well a strong hard rock effort (like a good half of this album), but is also a relatively boring track as a whole.
  5. AllMusic Review by Michael Gallucci The debut album from this California-based quartet is likeable, turn-of-the-century modern rock played with little style, but youthful enthusiasm. Nothing here's gonna change the world, but the fact that these guys don't seem inclined toward filling any agenda or catering to a specific audience is promising.
  6. Nov 20,  · I first heard of Hoobastank when their massive breakthrough hit, Crawling in the Dark, became a mainstay on my alt-radio station. The best thing I can say about their self-titled debut album is that it doesn't really fit into one style. Somewhat hard, somewhat punky, somewhat angsty, but not too much of anything. In any case, this is great /5().
  7. The XXX-rated quartet Hoobastank arrives on this self-titled major-label debut as a nu-metal Weezer, though without anything as cheekily subversive as "Hash Pipe." The similarities lie more in Hoobastank's tight playing and vocal harmonies than in the overblown post-teen lyrics/5().
